Our dentist may recommend a dental crown to restore a damaged tooth and bring it back to full function. Dental crowns are custom restorations that cover the entire visible portion of the tooth, restoring its original size, shape, and color. Crowns are often used for more serious dental issues, such as:
- Broken or fractured teeth
- Teeth with extensive decay
- Teeth with large or fractured fillings
- Teeth that have undergone root canal treatment
- Teeth needing cosmetic enhancement
Each crown is meticulously designed to match the size, shape, and color of your natural teeth, ensuring a seamless fit and appearance. While traditional crowns typically require two appointments, Lockwood Family Dental uses advanced CEREC technology to create and place your crown in a single visit.
Dental Crowns Process
During your appointment, our dental team will clean and prepare the damaged tooth. Using CEREC technology, we’ll create a custom crown from a digital impression, milling tooth-colored material right in our office. After ensuring a perfect fit, the crown will be securely bonded and polished, leaving you with a fully restored smile.
